How does car park occupancy monitoring work?
An edge device counts vehicles in and out across a line at each entrance and exit, using the CCTV you already have. Available spaces are the car park’s capacity minus the vehicles currently inside, so one device per entrance covers a whole level, with no sensor in every bay.
Does it work with my existing CCTV cameras?
It can work with suitable existing IP cameras. DisplayPulse connects over RTSP, with presets for Hikvision, Dahua, Reolink, Axis and Uniview, and the video is processed on site. No video leaves the site.
Does DisplayPulse read number plates?
No. There is no ANPR and no number-plate reading. Vehicles are counted, not identified.
How up to date is the available-spaces figure?
Counts are made on site and synced to your dashboard through the day, with a delay of up to about 15 minutes, and the dashboard shows when it last synced. It is built for occupancy patterns, utilisation and planning, not second-by-second space guidance.
Can it show drivers which bay is free?
No. DisplayPulse counts at car park level, not per bay, and it does not control guidance signs or barriers. LamasaTech can supply “SPACES / FULL” guidance displays as a separate project.
